The Research Collective

The research collective stands for

  • Free and self-determined research, the collective provides the infrastructure, the researchers choose the topics themselves
  • Collective ownership of the galaxy’s raw materials, for the benefit of all
  • The raw materials are free, the galaxy is a raw material omnium instead of being owned by the Exploration Corps, what is produced from the raw materials is up to each individual, may he/she be successful!

For this reason, the original smuggler base was abandoned and the new, secret base of the research collective was set up in the Tau-Ceti system.

The station consists of several elements designed to implement the ideology of the research collective:

Research Block 1

Research block 1 is the heart of the facility. Conceived as a co-science station, scientists can work in the various laboratories on astrophysics, materials science, astrobiology, robotics, planetary science, etc. There are also two pop-up labs (the white containers) in which temporary equipment/laboratories can be set up. This is where the heart of the Free Science movement of the research collective beats

In the laboratories, research is carried out according to interest, there is no mandate. If the color of the spacesuit had a meaning in the Exploration Corporation, this is lost in the collective. Even fantasy uniforms such as blue-metallic are possible without any problems.

The black container in the middle is a delivery of new material to support the Collective from Earth.

The equipment is delivered by stealth spaceships from the Blacktron group. Fast and undetectable, the ships are the ideal transporters for equipment from Earth.

Research Block 2

Research block 2 is primarily used for research into the base asteroid. Two laser drilling towers and a planetology laboratory equipped with repulsors can be used to study the asteroid, its composition, origin etc. Block 2 was created together with Block 1 and before the spaceport was built

Research Block 3

Research Block 3 was built after the spaceport was commissioned, when the space in Block 1 and Block 2 was no longer sufficient. Block 3 is therefore a little out of the way, but offers an excellent infrastructure with state-of-the-art software defined radio telescopes, AI-based microwave spectrometers, X-ray telescopes, etc.. There is also a small kitchen if you want to stay a little longer.

Spaceport

The spaceport was set up to implement the concept of the raw materials allmend and thus undermine the Exploration Corp’s raw materials cartel.

The spaceport consists of 3 landing fields, in the foreground is the freighter for the transport to earth with escort ship, in the middle the extraction units and in the background you can see the scout ships

The scout ships are stealthed units that lurk in the Tau-Ceti system, intercepting messages and monitoring ship traffic. From this, the station AI calculates possible locations of resource fields that the Exploration Corp. would like to mine.

The scout ships are fast, have active and passive stealth technology and are therefore difficult for the Exploration Corps to detect.

Below the landing fields there are further research stations, but also workshops, power generation and similar facilities. Facilities that are necessary for the operation of the collective.

The Collective’s LL 919 was poached by the Exploration Corps, along with its crew, and now also serves as an extremely fast scout ship, traveling mainly in the outer Tau-Ceti system.

Once the location of a raw material deposit has been determined, the two exploration units are sent out, the black and white ship for extraction and liquefaction, the blue and gray ship for transporting the liquefied raw materials.

Mining is a race against time; the Exploration Corps extraction teams could appear at any moment.

Here both units are back from a mission, the extracted raw materials are being processed and prepared for transportation to Earth.

The raw materials are processed in 2 stages. The pumping station pumps the liquefied raw materials out of the transporter and cleans them of impurities in several stages. The raw materials are then pumped into the compression tanks. There, the raw materials are compressed to such an extent that they can then be loaded into the Cargo-018 under high pressure

The collective’s Cargo-018-XR was abducted from the solar system and converted for interstellar use. Since the highly compressed raw materials are highly unstable, a Cargo-018 was needed for safe transportation to Earth.

As soon as the Cargo-018 arrives in the earth system, the raw materials are distributed to interested parties free of charge. The respective time and location will be shared between hands and in corners outside the mainstream. The collective’s customers are poor countries. Companies and cooperatives that do not want to be subject to the dictates of the Exploration Corps. Thanks to the collective’s free raw materials, many poorer countries and cooperatives have already been able to develop new projects and products, thereby increasing the prosperity of their populations.

The Rohstoff-Allmend makes it possible!

Amusement park

An important part of the collective is the fun element. The space park therefore plays an important role.

At Spacepark, the focus is on fun and there is plenty of it:

  • Space-Coaster, a roller coaster that pays homage to the heroes of space
  • Baseball field, where the teams meet to play the asteroid champion.
  • Two rides – the Space Rocket and the Space Adventure Ride
